Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Storm are set to set to play their 2018 home opener on Monday, March 12th against the Cedar Rapids Titans. Kickoff is set for 6:05 PM at the Denny Sanford Premier Center.
Waterbury Heating & Cooling/Coleman Heating & Air Conditioning and KSFY-TV will serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the game and help give away 1,000 free replica jerseys to kids 12 and under. There will be numerous events and special promotions going on throughout the Storm home opener that includes a special fundraiser to benefit the Quinn Pesicka Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The Storm lost to the Arizona Rattlers 39-33 on February 25th. In that game, Lorenzo Brown finished with 106 passing yards and one touchdown while completing 10 of 20 passes, while rushing 11 times for 59 yards and one touchdown. Lyle McCombs had 15 yards on eight carries with two touchdowns. Mike Tatum caught four passes for 51 yards and one touchdown while Judd Harrold had five receptions for 45 yards. Defensive backs Trey Wafford led the Storm with 10 total tackles while Daniel Lindsey and Jabari Gorman each grabbed one interception.
For the Titans, the team is looking to extend a one game win streak after defeating the Green Bay Blizzard 47-39. Jake Medlock threw for 223 yards while completing 17 of 22 of his passes with three touchdowns, along with 13 rushing yards and one touchdown. Medlock was named IFL Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts. Tyler Thomas rushed 10 times for 26 yards and two touchdowns. Connor Hollenbeck finished the game with 99 yards off of four receptions while collecting one touchdown, while Javon Bell and Tyler Thomas each reeled in one touchdown. The Titans defense tallied 54 tackles, three tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one pass break-up.
