Barnstormers Dominate Blizzard 46-25

 DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers (5-2) beat the Green Bay Blizzard (0-7) 46-25 Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.

The first quarter started off with Green Bay quarterback Bryan Hicks throwing a 44-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Chris Malott. Iowa quarterback Grant Rohach answered back with a touchdown pass to wide receiver Ryan Balentine. Iowa's Rohach connected with wide receiver Sheldon Augustine for a short touchdown pass, but the extra point was no good. Iowa's defensive back Bryce Enyard returned an interception for a touchdown. Green Bay defensive back Darrius Sims took an interception back for a touchdown, and the two-point conversion was good. The Iowa Barnstormers led the Green Bay Blizzard at halftime 20-15.

The third quarter began with Augustine running the ball in for an Iowa touchdown, but the PAT was no good. Green Bay's Hicks handed the ball off to wide receiver Jereme Jones for the touchdown run. Iowa's Rohach made a touchdown pass to wide receiver Brady Roland. Iowa's Rohach completed a touchdown pass to Balentine. Iowa's Rohach ran the ball in for a 3-yard touchdown run, but the PAT was no good. Green Bay kicker Jordan Endries made a 51-yard field goal.

In in his  second game as a starter, Iowa QB Grant Rochach completed 10 of 16 passes for 123 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Rohach also added a rushing touchdown and led the team with 52 rushing yards. WR Sheldon Augustine led all pass catchers with three receptions for 47 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, DB Bryce Enyard led the team with 10 tackles and also had two interceptions.

Blizzard QB Bryan Hicks led Green Bay offensively, finishing his night completing 14 of 27 passes for 154 yards, one touchdown and two costly interceptions. WR Chris Malott had one reception for 44 yards and one touchdown.

The Barnstormers will return to Wells Fargo Arena on Friday, May 11, 2018 for 90's Night as they take on in-state rivals the Cedar Rapids Titans. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m.Tickets are available at Call 515-633-2255 to speak with a ticket representative.
